American author, Hollie Lewis says the idea for This Side of the Pools came to her in a dream, in which a group of women claiming to be her eternal family spoke to her. They assured her that they were watching over her and that they would greet her when she returns some day to them.

From there, Hollie built the world beyond the pools and created an eternal family, her own circle. She says there is a little of her in every character.

Hollie lives in Los Angeles, California with her family and was born and raised in Southern California.
